'57 Artesian

from $240.00

The ‘57 Artesian is a faithful recreation of the first evolution of Gibsons PAFs that were wound on the same machine as their P90 pickups, creating an imbalanced wind pattern. This limited the amount of wire that could fit on the bobbin, so the DCR readings on the originals can be as low as the high 6k range and never more then 7.6k. These have more clarity, treble and transient response than later PAFs, so I aim to make them around 7.4k for the neck position, 7.6k for the bridge position and use an AlNiCo 2 bar magnets (unlike the A4 in the ‘59) to give a warmer tone to the extra transient response and treble.
